Saffle Says --- Lessons for English Learners

Here you can find out all the information you need about the Michael's ESL podcast and blog. Post questions and comments as you wish. I value listener and reader comments so don't be shy! The questions you ask me more than likely will be questions others want to know the answers to!

Black-eye Jon

Black-eye Jon, originally uploaded by Michael Saffle.

My friend Jon was hit with a softball yesterday during a game. We call this type of injury a "black-eye" or a "shiner."

Example sentence:

"Can you get me a bag of ice? The ball hit me in my face and I think I might have a shiner tomorrow."

or

"I'll give you a black-eye if you don't stop telling people I stole your CD."
